Musical installation for the 90th anniversary of Gorky Park, Moscow
This is the story of how the moon met the pond. From the beginning of time she had looked at him from afar. Every night, he reflected her light on his motionless surface, spellbound as she appeared with her suite of stars. But one night these entities, usually so far away from each other, became one…
By the magical music of 3 pianos floating among 250 stars on the water this fairy-tale meeting became a reality. A 6-meter floating Moon shimmered and flickered on the star covered pond.
The second day of the performance was created in collaboration with neo-classical musician Marynka Nicolai Krylova. Marynka doesn’t use notations while playing, she prepares a modal musical frame, which gets a new treatment with each performance, making it a powerful experience of the here and now.
